ASSESSMENT OF COMMUNITY-LEVEL BARRIERS2IntroducTonImmigrants are people who move out of their original homeland to another country due tospecific reasons. Among the several types of immigrants are the refugees who flee their countriesdue to war or other similar predicaments. In the process, they face they may get bruised orseriously injured and as a result require emergency treatment in the country that they take refugein. However, in the case of the USA, un-regularized individuals as well as illegal immigrants donot qualify for Medicare (Derose, Escarce, & Lurie, 2007). This in turns makes it difficult for allimmigrants and refugees who have not yet been regularized and registered to seek healthcare.Consequently, the proposed Affirmative Action Program for all Immigrants in my communitywill look into this matter with the urgency it deserves. Hence an assessment of community-levelbarriers will be conducted to determine some of the things that make it difficult for theimmigrants and refugees to get proper healthcare in my community. Micro-level BarrierLack of FinancesTo begin with, lack of finances leads to many immigrants and refugees to lack theopportunity to get proper healthcare. This is mainly because, to get an insurance coverage, anindividual is required to have proper documentations showing that the government has allowedthem to reside in the region(Fern±ndez-Kelly & Portes, 2013). None the less, most of theimmigrants and refugees are unregistered which causes most of them to lack the opportunity toget insurance coverage. Secondly, the documentation is necessary for the individual to get a job

The burden level is made worse by the investment coverage as well as the treatment coverage. The personal, societal, and economic consequences of mental health issues are very detrimental. For instance, in 2010 alone, the estimated cost of depression was more than 800 billion US dollars. This paper, therefore, seeks to provide an understanding of this vulnerable group and the different ways to meet their needs and offer them treatment.
